Easter Hors D’oeuvres Party

Easter Hors D'oeuvres Party

I usually throw dessert parties, and they’re awesome and beautiful…but sometimes I’m left with tons of desserts and I end up eating ALL of it! I have a big problem…which is why I decided to go easy on the pastries and chocolate for this party. I threw this party for my family (hubby, kids and I).  Kids weren’t quite as smitten as the Dinosaur party, but my husband was a big fan of the food! The recipes were easy and delicious and there was plenty left over. I was a big fan of the decor…because I designed it and it’s just how I wanted it to be!

I am a HUGE sucker for vintage items…but I also don’t like things that look dated.  That’s why you’ll see a lot of my designs have vintage touches with really vibrant colors and modern elements.  I LOVE this set.  I based my designs on three patterns that were coordinating, yet totally different from each other.  One pattern is the beautiful birch pattern (seriously, you’ll be seeing more of this pattern because it adds so much class, even though it’s so simple), then I have a light blue and white floral and a bright, vibrant floral. I made the roses using the patterns from my printables (Check out the Tutorial) and I also made matching placecard holders (my favorite element…tutorial also coming soon!) I tied it all together with gray ribbon and leaf-like plates and platters (from Macy’s…I’ve had them for a while and use them all the time!) I think I outdid myself this time.  I mostly credit it to moving into a house I love with a kitchen I love EVEN MORE! I whipped these things up way faster than I thought I would! The menu included:

I can’t decide if I liked the chicken or pork better…both favorites!!!

It’s been cold and rainy where I live and I’ve been moody these days. Your creations brightened my day! Love all the detail and love you put into!

  1. […] Last year I created a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch Ham Loaf for my Easter Dinner. It was really yummy and it reminded me of everything I love about Easter.  This year, I wanted to create something that was unique, but still held some traditional elements…Thus, Pineapple Pork Lettuce Wraps! I’m pretty much in love with this recipe.  I’m a fan of Asian food and this Americanized version of lettuce wraps really hit the spot.  I may or may not be drooling right now. The best part is that they’re SUPER easy and you can make large quantities at a time…perfect for parties like my Easter Hors D’oeuvres Party! […]

  2. […] knew I wanted to incorporate paper flowers to the background of my Easter Hors D’oeuvres Party, but because of my move, I had to come up with something simple and fast.  I searched all over […]
