My oldest child is starting school in August…I’m pretty much in shock that I have a Kindergartner. Her birthday is in July so I debated pretty much her whole life if I would hold her back a year. I finally came to the conclusion that putting her in school with her friends was the best decision for her. I wish I had one more year with her at home, but I know she will be great at school! I want her to be happy and healthy…and every child deserves to be healthy, which is why I love Walgreen’s Get a Shot Give a Shot program.
Did you know that 1.5 million children die every year from diseases that are prevented with a simple immunization shot? And many more are disabled because of these diseases? I think that statistic is staggering. There are so many things I take for granted and running to the drug store for my yearly flu shot is one of those things. It is not that simple for people in third world countries. Nothing is readily available. With Walgreen’s new program, when you take your child in to get their immunizations, they will provide immunizations for a child in a third world country to get their shots, too! It’s so easy for us to do and would make a HUGE impact on the lives of many many people around the world! This program is for children over 7. You can get them immunized for Whooping Cough (especially important if you have an infant at home), HPV, Meningitis, and Chicken Pox. When you get your child immunized at Walgreens, you’ll be saving the life of at least one child…like I said, it’s amazing! Since my daughter isn’t old enough for shots at Walgreens yet, I still wanted to prepare her for the school year with some school supplies. I’m dying over the glitter notebook! I got all these items for $3! If you shop here, definitely get their rewards program because it saved me $10! I created her “First Day of Kindergarten” sign so I can take her picture on the first day like I did with preschool last year. Isn’t there such a HUGE difference? She’s so big!! Technically, her first day of school hasn’t happened yet, but you get the idea You can download my FREE Printables HERE. I’ve included a First Day sign for each grade in elementary school, plus the cute notebook label! Once you download, unzip the files and print them off (I have also included the Silhouette file for the notebook label). What are you doing this school year to keep your kids happy and healthy? I would love some advice…I’m new to this
