You can probably tell by now that I adore Halloween. I will be having spooky withdrawals in a couple weeks when I have to start posting for Thanksgiving because…blogging. This is the one holiday I never get burnt out on, so I had to make this hand lettered wall art!
I created this by using my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers. If you are interested in learning brush lettering, these pens are a great investment! I got every color imaginable, but really I only need black because I digitize everything anyway.
After I drew the image, I took a pic with my phone and emailed it to myself. In photoshop, I took out the colors, adjusted the levels and copied it to illustrator. Since I wanted the distressed look (instead of the clean look I got for my foodie gifts), I didn’t have to clean up any lines…I just used image trace and added the watercolor background that I purchased from Creative Market.
I got this super gawdy, wonderful frame at Hobby Lobby when they were having a 50% off sale when I did my Witch’s Brew Halloween Party 2 years ago. I love the way it looks in this frame! I almost painted it white and I’m really glad I didn’t 🙂
