If you’ve been following my blog the past couple of months, you know that I’m working on decorating my house that we’ve had for 2 years. Lately, I’ve been focusing on my daughter’s room and last week we finally finished it! We wanted it to be a surprise for her birthday, so we shipped the kids off to Grandma’s for a week and got to work. I’m in love with this Woodland Princess Girl Room Design! Just prepare yourself for A LOT of pictures…
I actually painted her room 2 days before I had Beau. You know when you’re completely irrational and think you have to get EVERYTHING done before baby? Apparently that meant turning my daughter’s room into a fairy tale…but I am really glad I did it. I love how it’s modern, yet girly. Since it was such a large accent, it was easy to find bedding because it needed to be simple. I got the sheets and white quilt at Target and the minky blanket was custom made by A Grace Unlimited. I’m pretty sure I need a giant minky blanket for myself now because it’s AWESOME! Tell her Erin sent you 🙂
My favorite part of the room is the feature wall with frames from Cut it Out, and a desk my husband and I made. Okay, my husband made it but I took pictures of the process and designed the backboard. Watch for a tutorial!
I love the frames that Cut it Out sent to me. You can choose from a ton of designs and paint them to match your decor. I just used the paint that I had left over from painting Riley’s room so it was exactly the way I wanted it to be. I put some cork board in the large frame so Riley could have a place to display her artwork. That double frame is just GORGEOUS!
You can get creative and use these in different ways. I backed the Athens Wall Art with some scrapbook paper I had from American Crafts. I also framed the R instead of putting a picture in the frame. I also love the way the crown I designed looks on top of the cork board. You’ll see that crown throughout her entire room!
Another recurring theme was the cute little fox. I bought the piggy bank a while ago and I’ve been collecting everything fox from there since. I think the stuffed animal was the PERFECT addition to her bed (find out how to make the crown pillow HERE).
The birthday girl was SO excited about her room. She stood in there and looked around for about an hour, checking out all the details. I’ll be posting more birthday details this week, including the EASIEST party ever, so stay tuned!
DISCLAIMER: I received frames from Cut it Out for this post. All opinions are completely my own…but seriously, they’re adorable!
