I’m going to be honest with you…I’m a pretty stressed out person. The main reason I get stressed is because I don’t plan ahead and I’m rushing to get things done. I don’t really have that option now since I’m 32 weeks pregnant. I would say it has curbed my OCD a little, but mostly, it’s just made me more organized…which is kind of great! Instead of “nesting,” I’m coming up with party ideas. It’s weird how our bodies work! These Stress-Free Holiday Tips and Table Decor should give you a little inspiration and will help make your holidays a lot more enjoyable!
Tip #1 WRITE IT DOWN
First off…the best way to stay stress free is to write things down! I have driven myself crazy trying to remember details and then I kick myself when I forget something. I’m really forgetful, so writing things down is an absolute MUST for me.

Tip #2 PLAN AHEAD
Have more people than beds? Make a floor plan where everyone will stay. Want to serve something new? Try out new recipes BEFORE the occasion so you know what you’re doing. Write out a time frame for the food you need to cook, then plan what you can make ahead of time and what needs to be made that day. Try to plan ahead as many items as you can so you can actually enjoy being around family and friends.
Tip #3 MINIMIZE YOUR SHOPPING AGENDA
What I mean is, try to do all your shopping in as few stores as possible. When I do holiday shopping, I buy most of my items at bulk stores, like Sam’s Club. I love Sam’s Club because of the large portion sizes on food, they have great produce, and I also buy my card stock to make my printables.
Tip #4 STAY IN YOUR BUDGET
If inviting the whole family is not in your budget…DON’T DO IT! Or at least have everyone help with the cost of the meal. Use the decor you already have, or collect it over time. I always have an arsenal of party decorations, but that’s my job. Not everyone has that option! That’s why I have included my free printables (available in different colors to match more holidays!)

Tip #5 HAVE FUN!
This is something that I forget to do when I plan a party. I’m so busy worrying about the details, I’m too tired to enjoy my company when it’s over. Your guests will appreciate what you do no matter what…so give yourself a break and join in on the fun! You’ll remember the fun times more than you’ll remember if the straw flags were straight 😉

I printed your guest, menu, and shopping lists for my mom and I. She is hosting Thanksgiving and we will host Christmas. Fantastic to have a place to make notes about things. Remembering who is coming, what to serve, and what to buy is better with a list! Thanks!
